When Lulu Ziminski, "a fashion maven extraordinaire who was world-famous for her flair," meets Henley, a Japanese Chin, at the Sweetie Pie Pet Shop, it's a perfect match. So begins HENLEY: A NEW YORK TAIL, written and illustrated by Julie Muszynski. The book traces Henley's rise from adored pet to taste of the town: being discovered at Bergdorf Goodman, fleeing the "pupperazzi" and hobnobbing with the Plaza's Eloise. Inspired by the late real-life Henley, Muszynski's own Japanese Chin dog, the charming tale of friendship and loyalty enchants with its witty text, hand-drawn pictures, vintage and contemporary photos and lift-the-flap pages.
Julie Muszynski is a graduate of Parsons School of Design. She has spent over a decade working as a stylist for both the fashion and home furnishing industries. Her previously published books include, The Red Book of Dogs and The Blue Book of Dogs (Harper Collins, 2007).
