Kishu Binchotan Charcoal is known to be the best quality charcoal for purifying water. It is activated through an extremely high burning temperature and rapid cooling process. Binchotan absorbs chlorine and other chemicals from drinking water while releasing natural minerals into it. It has an alkaline effect, softening and improving the overall taste of water. Prior to the first time use, rinse Binchotan with water and boil it for 10 minutes to refresh. Then, let it dry then place in your water pitcher. Bichotan can be re-used for up to around 3 months.
